Probably the most well-known of British flying goggles due to appearances in war films and media, and there being a replica type of goggle made by Stadium for motor cycling closely copying the Mk8, but with threaded adjuster instead of the slider (sometimes unofficially referred to as the "Mk9"). Some seemingly new condition Mk8 goggles also occasionally appear, which are the result of careful rebuilding (new soft parts, and re-painted original frames).

These Mk8 goggles were well used when I acquired them, showing signs of service life. Since then I have used them for a bit of reenacting with classic jets. unfortunately due to age, the glass lenses / windows have started to de-laminate as can be seen in the images below.
Across the bridge of the nose are the size adjustment sliders, here shown in fully extended position.
The lenses / windows are released by detatching the headband strap , the chromed tangs keep the lenses in place.
