CockpitFest 2017

Post by scott »

My favorite memory of all 'Fest 2017... We split our sides laughing, poor guy was out for the count!

Rule No1 of 'Fest; Don't fall asleep near very drunk people!

My simple 2017 display, After the bombing of Port Stanley, it was reported that the crew of the Vulcan XM607 listened to "Chariots Of Fire" on the return to Ascension Island. This little experience allowed people to hear what it really sounded like.

Didn't we all have a great weekend? Every Cockpitfest at NAM has been such a good event, we were starting to run out of ideas for the different themes for our displays though as we have stood as Exhibitors since 2010. On a personal basis, I think our "One man single seat liferaft WW2 K Type to Present day" was most rewarding? Spanky, you took a panoramic view of it, any chance posting it please?

It certainly has been a strange year with no Aeroboots of Cockpitfest?

Yes its been quiet but I hope some of us have used the time to sort out some winter/spring projects. Unfortunately I haven't. I still want to finish off a Lightning pre-production pilots panel but its just making time and dropping other stuff that I can't drop at present, while even a foam garden mat still does the kness in after a time in the garden. No shed to work in and any major restoration or woodwork work has to be done in the garden using house bricks and ingenuity.

In the meanime here are some publicity images I've designed for the Fest over the years, an A4 general poster/table ad, plus 3 moody teaser images leading up to the Fest, plus a combo of all three images shot at NAM.

What a laugh that night was, I think that was 2013 and a great time with Andy & Trudy and others chilling out ahead of another Fest, hope it goes as planned this year.
