PITOT STATIC SYSTEM

DESCRIPTION

The original FGUK Lightning does calculate pitot and static pressures, along with airspeed, mach number, and altitude.

The Lightning aircraft uses several speed and altitude switches to give certain other systems and equipment permission to operate, ie: interlocks.

It was tempting to simply add to each piece of equipment's logic a function to check the airspeed or altitude, however certain advantages were gained by adding a whole script to encompass the pitot static system and these switches brings the model more in line withthe real aircraft. The main advantage of this was to allow for faults to be simulated such as icing / blockage of the pitot or static ports, to simulate the knock-on effect to all dependent systems.
