(FOR RED TOP INSTALLATION)

LEADING PARTICULARS

Stores Ref. No.:6A/8157
Manufacturer:Samgamo Weston
Connection:Screw terminals
Attachment:HERE

DESCRIPTION

This indicator is fitted to panel A1 in conjunction with installation of the Red Top missile weapons pack. It indicates the pressure of a "pure air" bottle in the weapons pack, which is used to cool the missiles during arming.

The break in the white arc at 4500 psi indicates the mimimum pressure for take-off, and the white radial line between the red and yellow sectors at 1850 psi indicates the minimum pressuer for effective missile cooling.

REPAIR

The indicator sourced for this project unfortunately was internally damaged. The pointer and moving coil spindle mechanism was broken into two pieces, so requires a very delicate strip-down to see if a repair is possible. Unfortunately where the spindle had broken was adjacent to the moving coils, so some damage to the coils may be present.

SIMULATION

The electrical signals to this indicator are to be simulated as it's another indictor to check as part of the pre-flight checks. The pressure can also be simulated to gradually decrease if the guided weapons are selected.
