Navigation and anti-collision lighting
White anti-collision lamps are fitted to the underside of the wingtips, top of the spine (rearward facing) and either side of the lower tail fuselage. A 3-position cockpit switch can be set to: off, steady on, or flashing.
When set to HI FLASH mode, the wingtip and spine white anti-collision lamps flash using a flasher unit Type A mounted on the cockpit rear bulkhead. In either STEADY or in HI FLASH mode, the two white tail lamps and the navigation wingtip red (port) and green (starboard) lamps illuminate steady.

Refuelling probe lamps can be switched on steady only with the NAV LIGHT switch in STEADY or HI FLASH modes.
Taxi lighting
The taxying lights Type A are simply controlled by the TAXI LIGHT switch. They help to illuminate runway and taxiways in front of the aircraft while taxying round an airfield.
