DESCRIPTION

The warning and emergency circuits are organised into two groups depending on their functional importance. The groups are named:

Both systems have their own display panel to annunciate issues by illuminating small text captioned windows, as follows:

Other equipment of the standard warning system:

STANDARD WARNING SYSTEM

The standard warning system observes critical parameters and conditions, when an issue occurs the relevant caption of the SWP is illuminated red.

In addition to the S.W.P., two "attention getter" lamps are installed, which flash red when a standard warning event occurs. Additionally an audible warning alarm is also mixed in with the intercom system.

The activation of the attention getter lamps and audible warning of an SWP caption illumination is latched on, meaning that the fault condition may go away and caption extinguish, but the flashing attention lamps and audible warning persist until the "C" cancel button is pressed. If the cancel button is pressed while the fault condition is still present, the attention getters and audible warning are cancelled, but the window stays illuminated.

An audio warning mute switch marked "M" fitted to panel A1 reduces the volume of the audio warning when pulled out.

A lamp test button is fitted to illuminate all SWP captions. Pressing this also triggers the attention getters and audible warning, due to them being triggered by an SWP caption being illuminated.

CaptionWarning Description
OXY 1Oxygen pressure low (pupil)
OXY 2Oxygen pressure low (instructor)
GENGenerator failure
HYDHydraulic failure of both systems
TRIMAuto trim circuit failure
CPRCabin pressure failure
RHT 1No. 1 jet pipe reheat area fire
RHT 2No. 2 jet pipe reheat area fire
FIRE 1No. 1 engine bay fire
FIRE 2No. 2 engine bay fire

AUXILIARY WARNING SYSTEM

The auxiliary warning system observes less critical parameters and conditions, when an issue occurs the relevant caption of the SWP is illuminated orange.

Unlike the SWP, when an AWP caption is illuminated it is not latched, so when a fault condition clears, the caption lamp will extinguish on its own with no need for a cancel button.

Illumination of AWP captions also does not initiate the attention getter lamps or the audible warning.

A lamp test button is fitted to illuminate all SWP captions.
